C++ Language : C++ is a general purpose programming language it was developed by 'Bjarne Stroustrup' extension of C programming with the name "C with classes" The motivation of making this programming language is to increment in  C language .But in time by time 'C with classes' improve and the new name was C++.

Java : Java is a high-level, class based, object-oriented programming language, it is a general purpose programming language which is used for application developers. meaning that all the java code run on all platform that support java without the need of recompilation 

java was originally developed by James gosling at sun microsystem(which has been acquired by Oracle) and released in 1995 as a core component of 'sun-microsystem' java platform. The original and java reference implementation java compiler, virtual machine, and class libraries was only developed by sun under properties license

Java is everything right now, you can do whatever you want, every single things can be developed by java....The Mobiles apps, android apps, desktop app, etc. real time system can robots washing machine anything that run the JVM. If JVM can run there is a java logic run there.

If you are beginner or think that which language is best for you, so I will give you decision choose the C++, because C++ set your mind how to work in programming language and the most important point of C++ it's a general purpose programming language or support the (OOPS) Concept, Then you learn java.

Java has more scope than object oriented modeling because in java you can create anything what you want like websites, mobile apps, games, TV app etc. or the java quality of java is they also support object oriented programming but if you choose C++ so you can make only games or some others things but if you think you can create a application. so C++ can not developed application it can create games because C++ is fast language.
